For dogs to be happy and socially acceptable, we must help them to learn to cope and respond in a healthy and an appropriate manner to the spectrum of people, animals, places and things they might encounter along the road of life. A dog that is not socialised adequately will respond in a fearful manner and not want to interact. Aggression can occur from fear as a coping mechanism.
